Ok so the day I bought my house the realtor (not my realtor, Barbara, who is perfect and fabulous but the seller's realtor, who I had only just met) asked me when I was due. And I made a silly video about it. And I put it on the internet. And honestly, I have no idea why but now it's gotten over 500,000 views on TikTok and 35,000 on Instagram and today I got a message from a reporter at Newsweek who wanted to get some follow-up questions for a clickbait article, I guess. Is this fame? Probably not. BUT, I do think some of these questions are worth discussing, so here we go! (If you haven't seen the video I'm talking about, here it is: Has this happened to you? What did you say vs. what did you wish you had said? I was only a little surprised by her question. I think it’s rude to ask any woman about whether she’s pregnant, especially if you’ve only just met! However, I’ve been asked this question at least 3 times before in my life by people I don’t know at all, both before and after actually being pregnant. I’m really proud of how I’ve changed in the way I handle questions like this. The first time I remember spiraling for days, stressing about my body and that little bit of belly fat I could never seem to get rid of no matter what diets and exercise I tried! I was so embarrassed. After that I’d try to laugh it off, as many of the women in the comments do, apparently. I’d say things like “oh no! I just love doughnuts!” so that the person who’d made the statement felt like we were in on a joke together. But now? After over a decade of random people asking me if I’m pregnant? I’m not trying to make them feel comfortable. I’m just trying to make them stop, even if it’s just one at a time. I really had hoped that we were past making comments on women’s bodies by now! The expectation that a woman should have a flat stomach at all times is unrealistic, and often deeply harmful. I guess I thought we’d all learned that, and started to try to be kinder to each other. I hope that anyone who sees this video and wonders why women get offended can just, I don’t know - pick different small talk topics next time. Just my small, small way of trying to help people treat each other kindly. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this topic! This week’s card is: XII The Hanged Man The Hanged Man. In the picture today this person hangs, comfortably suspended from a branch by a strong rope. They are hanging upside down, but the body language speaks of comfort and ease. And what’s more? They are holding the rope themself - keeping themself stuck here. This is a metaphor if ever there was one. It begs us to ask the questions: Where and How are we keeping ourselves stuck? Where are we holding ourselves back? And, how has that very...

Ok dear ones, It's been a week. I know you're feeling it too. Clients and friends and family and myself.... all of us are living in the strange and uncomfortable limbo of an outer world that seems to be spiraling more and more out of control.... and a daily life that looks very much the same. It feels strange and surreal. And, right now, it doesn't feel like we have much control. Today's card gives me comfort: From the Eternal Visions Illuminated Tarot by Matt Hughes The queen of swords is...
