Feel your feelings (ugh I know)

I’ve been thinking a lot about emotions this week—specifically, what happens when we’re taught not to trust them.

Let's start with one of the most popular emotions for women: Anxiety!

Anxiety often shows up when we've learned to believe that our fear response is "too much" or an "overreaction".

When you're told not to be scared, to “calm down,” or to “just push through,” you begin to repress fear instead of listening to it. Which your body won't stand for, especially if the environment your in remains unsafe.

And what starts as a natural emotional signal (fear) gets twisted into anxiety—because fear, when ignored, doesn’t go away. It just finds another way to speak.

Fear is your emotional warning system. It exists to help you understand when something is unsafe, when something’s off, when something needs your attention.

The same goes for anger. When anger gets repressed, it can turn into resentment—or even depression. Because anger tells you that something needs to change. Depression, on the other hand, whispers quietly over and over that nothing ever will.

Emotions aren’t the enemy. They’re messengers.

This is the work I do with my 1:1 coaching clients. We get underneath the anxiety, the exhaustion, the numbness, and we learn how to listen to your emotions instead of silencing them.

If you’re ready to explore what your emotions are really trying to say—and how to respond in a way that leads to actual change—my 1:1 coaching program is open for new clients now.

Hi [Name], I’ve been writing a ton this August—and while I haven't even used my tracker’s “fill in” feature for skipped days, it’s not because I’ve been perfect. Some days I write thousands of words. Other days, I don’t write at all. But I’m proud of myself for showing up consistently. Actual excerpt from my 750 words app. And that word—consistently—comes up a lot with my clients. They tell me things like: “I work out, but not consistently.” “I eat healthy, but not consistently.” “I journal,...
