You’re more consistent than you think


Hi [Name],

I’ve been writing a ton this August—and while I haven't even used my tracker’s “fill in” feature for skipped days, it’s not because I’ve been perfect. Some days I write thousands of words. Other days, I don’t write at all. But I’m proud of myself for showing up consistently.

And that word—consistently—comes up a lot with my clients.

They tell me things like:

“I work out, but not consistently.”
“I eat healthy, but not consistently.”
“I journal, but I fell off when work got busy.”

But when we dig into it? They are being consistent. They're working out 1–2 times per week. They're meal prepping lunches. They’re journaling more often than not.

They’re just not being perfect.

What they call inconsistency is actually just… being human.

They’ve swapped out perfectionism for “consistency”—but the expectations are still the same: no missed days, no dips, no changes.


They’re judging themselves not against progress, but against an unrealistic ideal.

Here’s the truth: consistency is not perfection. It’s coming back. It’s recalibrating. It’s doing the best you can, as often as you can, given your real life.
