Good morning! I swear to you, I just pulled this card & drafted this email and immediately the challenges are coming through right in line with the message. Read to the end if you want the tea. This week's card is: The LoversThis card visits today to remind us that, in a world full of beauty and struggle, peace and chaos, good things and bad things - that we are here in this world for a reason, we are here to experience exactly this world, and to do it together with other humans. Notice how the angels' hair is literal fire? Fire is a force for transformation, and that's why our souls are here on earth. If you're noticing the Eden imagery here, it's not an accident. It's a reminder that our purpose on earth was never, truly, to stay in the garden. But that everyone needs a safe place, a place to learn and grow in skills and confidence until we are ready for our own personal journey. Our "life lessons". We try to provide this same thing to our children, and it's nice to find it occasionally for ourselves, but we're never meant to stay there forever. We're here precisely for this - for the lessons we learn through challenge and struggle - particularly those lessons that involve interacting with our fellow humans and the natural world that surrounds us. (And unfortunately, the universe strongly believes in testing you before you feel like you've fully mastered the material. Have you noticed?) What this means for our week:Come back to the present. It's true that part of being human (and especially part of being a mom ðĪŠ) is that you need to be planning for the future. Some things require advanced planning and organization. But you also need to spend time IN the present moment, actually experiencing your life. Not just analyzing it, or overthinking it. Actually experiencing it. Practical:Set aside scheduled time this week for doing planning and organizational tasks (like registering your kids for camp, or *ahem* doing your taxes) - and outside of that scheduled time allow yourself to practice being present, spontaneous, and going with the flow. In your life you are both the teacher AND the student - don't spend so much time planning the next week's lessons that you forget to really engage in what's happening now. Magical:This one's fun because this week, the mundane IS actually magical. Embrace practices this week that connect you to nature, each other, the present moment, and the unique experience of being a human being on earth right now. You can do this by connecting with the cycles of our earth, honoring the new moon (March 19th) or the first sprouts of spring (Ostara & the Spring Equinox is this weekend!), or just literally by spending time outside, planting seeds & touching dirt, or breathing cool night air. Spend time as well doing very human things - cooking & eating together, taking care of your friends and family and your space. Appreciate the magic of being human and having a human experience. Even when that experience is messy. Want some extra magic?I'm now offering personalized asynchronous readings for when you want a little more specific guidance this week, or around a bigger issue. You can order a tarot reading (done by email) or try a channeling session (which are live, and scheduled via zoom). It's at least as accurate as ChatGPT, and a heck of lot more environmentally friendly! Here's how I know this reading is legit. This morning I've had 2 messy human tests already since I started writing this email. One is an issue with our home insurance & our mortgage company (and for me a challenge of how to best communicate & trust my husband to solve these problems) and another is my son pretending to have strep throat because he wants to come home and play with our house guests instead of being at school. Also, in my grocery pickup this week they gave me decaf coffee instead of regular. And it's day 1 of shark week (if you know you know). So I'm sensing that this is just the beginning of a week full of the beautiful, messy, work of being human, which means finding joy and beauty while facing challenges big and small AND learning how to stay centered in myself through it all. This is exactly the kind of work, I've found, that used to send me spiralling (because I had PLANS damnit) and now offers me a chance to practice keeping calm and doing the next right thing. With a lot of grace for myself and others. Don't worry, though (she says, partly to herself) you've got everything you need to pass this test. And you don't need to get an A+. You just need to learn something. <3 Megan
