Magical Mondays: Good things are coming

Every so often, Reader, even though I have been reading tarot for a few years now, I will pull a card that I have never pulled before.

You'd think that, statistically, that wouldn't happen. But it does. The same messages will tend to show up over and over until we take the action that actually moves us forward, or changes our path.

The last 2 weeks have been cards I haven't pulled before which means, in a big picture sense, things are changing.

And despite *gestures vaguely at everything* they are changing for the better.

Our card this week is:

Queen of Cups

The Queen of Cups exists at the boundary between water and land, sea and shore - the ever-shifting border between that which is firm and fixed and that which is fluid and largely unknowable. Her throne is right on the beach, in a place which - despite it's phenomenal beauty - none of us would dare to set up our folding beach chairs. But she's not concerned that the tide might wash her away. No, the only thing the tide will bring her is more shiny shells, sea glass, and treasures for her collection.

The focal point of this card is the giant fancy goblet. What's in there? Is it full? Or empty? It's got a closed lid and you can almost feel the Queen's anticipation as she stares at it.

But the Queen isn't nervouse or scared to open it up - she fully expects a treasure, a delightful surprise.

Her waiting is an act of savoring the possibilities, instead of rushing to a conclusion.

The sensuous not knowing. The thrilling "what if".

This week's card represents the lottery ticket you bought but who's number won't be called until Friday.

The mystery toy in your happy meal.

The tarot card you've drawn and placed face-down, and are waiting to flip.

This week is time to manifest.

This is a great week for

  • daydreaming
  • planning your next move
  • vision boards

It's not the ideal week to

  • stick to a rigid schedule
  • try to force an outcome
  • rush through something to "get it done"

How to live into this energy:

Practical:

Plan out your outfits this week with an eye for glam, luxury, and whimsy. Queen of Cups likes her stuff, and the fancier the better. This is a week to wear your bling, your favorite outfits, your chiquest hat - even if (especially if) you're not going anywhere special. It would also probably be a great week to dress like a mermaid, or add sparkly accessories to just about anything.

On a related note: Treat Yo' Self this week! (Tuesday, or any other day). Let yourself indulge in the little delights life sends your way!

Magical:

Try a simple breath awareness meditation. Set a timer for 5 or 10 minutes and then simply observe your breath as it flows in and out. Almost like you're watching the waves roll in and out at the beach.

Embrace the daydreamy vibes of this week by doing a Future Self Visualization. Let yourself luxuriate in the possibilities that lay ahead of you.

And, of course, take a Ritual Bath. Add in essential oils, candles, bubbles, and anything else that feels luxe (think rose petals floating around, and chocolate-dipped strawberries to snack on). If you don't have a bathtub available, this can also be a very long shower. Set the intention to feel good - that's it. The best day to do this one would be on Friday, May 1st, which is the Flower Full Moon and also Beltane.

That's all for this edition of Magical Mondays! I'd love to hear which of the options you choose to do, and how it goes for you! Simply reply to this email and share your experiences.
