Today's card is: The Four of Pentacles If I haven't told you already, I'm an intuitive reader, meaning I don't always go with the assigned meaning of each card. So I want to share the image I saw on this deck:
The woman on this card is crouching down, balancing on two pentacles, holding a third and gazing at it like it is a beautiful mystery she wants to understand. A fourth pentacle sits just above her head on a shining archway. The colors are blue and white and purple which, to me, always signify inspiration, intellect, and mind. If I'm going a bit cerebral on this reading, please forgive me. But I wanted to give you the background for why this card means what it means today which is this: Today, this week, take time to indulge in your curiosity. Let yourself take extra time to learn about the things that light a spark in you, and not just to check off a box. Let yourself dive deep and enjoy the process of uncovering something new. Here are some journal prompts to help you get going:
Let me know what comes up for you! And then, forward this to a friend who loves learning new things. <3 Megan P.S. If you're interested in the assigned meaning of the 4 of Pentacles card, you can learn more here. |

Do you know how annoying it is to try to "gentle parent" a toddler? If you aren't familiar, gentle parenting, at is essence, is committing to be a safe place for your toddler to have the full range of emotions and experiences that come along with, well, being a toddler. Which means that you sit with them through the tantrums, the meltdowns, and the "I JUST CAN'T DO THIS", without telling them to suck it up and stop crying. But also, without taking away the problem, or stepping in to solve it...
Have you noticed that when i do these I normally pull one card? A simple pull, to ask for guidance and a general theme. But when I read for myself, or for others, I use a 3-card spread. The extra cards can add clarity, (or confusion) to deliver a longer message. It's the progression here that matters, not the individual cards themselves. Today, when I went to pull a card for us, 3 cards popped out. Only, here's the weird thing, they were the same (almost) 3 cards I had pulled for myself last...
You may have heard me talk about EFT (also known as Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as Tapping) before. But have you ever tried it? When I first started to experiment with this technique I was pretty wary. Is this all just B.S.? I asked myself. I decided it probably didn't matter, because it was free, and simple, and I could decide for myself if I wanted to keep doing it or not. I then hit another stumbling block: What do I Say when I'm tapping? I know the basic set-up, and yes I can...
