I'm pulling back the curtain today. You may have wondered why I'm always so determined to put a picture of EXACTLY the card I drew in my Magic Mondays email! Or, well, maybe you haven't. There's a lot on everyone's minds right now. But there IS a very important reason why I never use a generic "3 of cups" picture when I'm actually pulling from my Illuminated Visions Deck, and why I wouldn't pull an AI image of "herbs" for the card I pulled yesterday. It's because: THE MEANINGS OF THE CARDS ARE ALL MADE UP And each card might mean 20 different things to 20 different people. I put the card I drew in each email because I want you to SEE the card and decide for yourself whether or not the reading resonates with you each week. I want you to be able to look at the picture that spoke to me, and see if it speaks to you about something completely different. When I started using card decks I stuck firmly to affirmation cards. With WORDS on them. I wanted to be told clearly what the message was. Using tarot, or oracle decks felt overwhelming. There were so many cards with meanings I needed to memorize. Until I was in a workshop with a marketing coach (where you would not expect to be learning to read Tarot but there you go) who taught us how to intuitively read cards. How to look at the colors, the images, the symbolism on each card and let a meaning emerge from our own inner guidance. I hope you can do this too with each of my magic mondays emails. Maybe you keep my reading as-is, because you see the same things and it resonates with you. Maybe, though, you'll look at the image and think "hmmm... that's not quite it" and come up with your own, more accurate reading for you.
