"It feels like I'm reprogramming my brain to prioritize myself and self care and abundance of radical self love." My client Anna said this in a recent session. At this point in your life, I bet you've got a whole file of evidence about how things don't work for you, how they never work out for you, or for people like you. You've probably convinced yourself that, at this point, real big fancy success is no longer a posibility. I know I have. And most people just accept this, because it feels weird not to. (Not only in that it feels new, different, and uncomfortable to feel real relief and happiness, though many of my clients say that as well) It feels weird in a Did-I-Miss-a-Memo kind of way. Like you have shown up in an orange shirt to what was clearly supposed to be purple shirt day. It feels weird to be questing for joy in a world that says "you can be anything you want to be if you try!" and then tags on, just a few years later, "but you should also get a business degree first, in case it doesn't work out. You know most people never make a living in the arts." It feels selfish to want a life that feels good and beautiful more often than it feels like a slog to get through so you can finally just sit down for 5 minutes, especially when so many of the people around you gripe about the price of eggs and gas and rent and then say "yeah, but that's just the way things are", or immediately blame the republicans (or the democrats, I guess depending on which house you're in). The Rebel Alliance is a group program for just that reason. I know this work is powerful, but it only goes so far when you're the only one in your life, in your circle of friends or family, that's committed to changing your life from the inside out. When you do it in community? You get to see that you're not as weird as you thought you were. You get to see that it's not you, being crazy, or wanting too much. It's actually a generation waking up, person by person. Realigning to our path. We start tomorrow. And I'd love you to start with us.

Imagine you're walking down the street one day and you see a door. Maybe at first it looks like just a painting of a door, on a brick wall or a gate. But as you get closer you're pretty convinced that if you reached out your hand, just to touch it, the knob would be smooth and cool to your touch. The knob would turn. And the door would open. You look to your right, and to your left and see no one else around. Do you reach out and touch the doorknob? The Door Is Opening The Rebel Alliance...

Yesterday I volunteered at a springtime festival, selling little fairy wands made of wood and ribbon for $2 each. You know, the kind of thing you get for a kid at a festival to play with and keep them occupied. To start? No one wanted my little wands. I mean, the kids wanted them, but kids don't have money, right? So I'm staring into the eyes of yet another adorable child who does not have money to buy my wand and the eyes are BIG and full of WANTING. You know the face I'm talking about....
