I literally laughed when I picked this card up — it was so on the nose. The advice hit hard. After the last two weeks of slowing down, tuning in, and reconnecting with nature and your inner guidance? Our card this week is: 7 of SwordsThis week is about getting back to work — but with INTENTION. It’s about picking up your swords… BUT NOT ALL OF THEM. To move forward, there are one or two (or more) things you need to leave behind — either in a “bye forever” way or a “not right now” way. I have a feeling you already know what those are. So here’s the big question: What are you releasing this week, and what are you picking back up? I’m offering two ways to explore this, and I’d love for you to pick the one that resonates most. Option 1: The Big Ol’ ListStart by writing down everything that’s been on your mind — everything you want to achieve, do, be. Include all the “shoulds” that have somehow ended up on your plate. Make it comprehensive. You don’t have to do this in one sitting — add to it as things come up. Now, we’re sticking with the number 5(because look at the card we pulled, right?). From your big ol’ list, pick 5 things that will be actual priorities this week. No more. (Hot tip: You can even assign one to each weekday, with two days totally off.) Write those 5 down on a new sheet of paper — then cross off the rest. Trust that the ones meant to get done, will get done. The ones that never mattered? They’ll take care of themselves — or fade away. They are no longer your problem. Take a deep breath in… and release them. Let them go. Breathe them out. And if it feels right — burn the paper. Or bury it. Option 2: The Passion PlanThis is one of my favorite tools to re-clarify my goals when I feel off-track. You can download the full version here for free, or try this DIY version:
You’re creating a little brainstorming web. Set a timer for 5 minutes and jot down all the things you’d like to do, be, or accomplish — and link each one to the timeframe that fits. When the timer goes off, stop. Trust that what came up is exactly what needed to. Now set a timer for 60 seconds. Circle one goal per timeframe that would have the BIGGEST impact on your life. Next, pick the one you want to tackle first. Got it? Start a new sheet of paper with that goal in the middle. Set a timer for 5 minutes and brainstorm all the steps, tasks, or to-dos that would move you toward that goal. When time’s up, give yourself 60 seconds to put them in order and assign each one a deadline. Boom. That’s your focus for the week. The power of intentionally choosing how we spend our time and energy is something many of us have lost touch with — after years of being taught to prioritize other people’s needs, expectations, or some larger system. This week, reclaim it. You get to set your priorities. I'm pulling back the curtain today. You may have wondered why I'm always so determined to put a picture of EXACTLY the card I drew in my Magic Mondays email! Or, well, maybe you haven't. There's a lot on everyone's minds right now. But there IS a very important reason why I never use a generic "3 of cups" picture when I'm actually pulling from my Illuminated Visions Deck, and why I wouldn't pull an AI image of "herbs" for the card I pulled yesterday. It's because: THE MEANINGS OF THE CARDS...
There are things all over your life and world that are already magical, but that you rarely notice, or just don't know how to tap into. That's the message of this week's card: The Herbs From Herbana Witch Oracle Deck by Alice Cuidi & Cecilia Lattari Herbs are mystical, magical plants that can be used to heal, soothe, and energize our bodies, if only we knew the mystical magical ways they work! Right? Think again. Most of the herbs that you'd find in a magic shop or for that matter on a...
I remember the first time we talked about your work life balance, and you were already doing so well. Not only were you crushing it at work, but you were also monetizing your hobbies, and volunteering, and taking classes. Of course you didn't have a work-life balance problem! But, also... You were eating your lunch in your car in a nearby parking lot, because even with your door closed colleagues would come in and interrupt you while you were on break. And you were holding your pee for way...
