Magical Mondays 🌟: Look babe! We did it!

Whoever is in charge of giving me these cards? Just… thank you. I really needed this one today.

Maybe you did too.

Welcome to Magical Mondays, where every week I draw a card for us to give some guidance and direction in a world that... well, you know. If you got this email forwarded, you can click the link below to subscribe so you don't miss out!

(Sometimes Magic Monday emails go out on Tuesday nights, but WHATEVER!)

The card for this week is Ten of Cups.

This one is all about gratitude — with a hefty side of “LOOK, BABE! WE DID IT.”

It’s your reminder to pause, look around at the life you’ve created, and take a break from cataloging all the ways it could be better… or worrying about all the ways it might fall apart.

Come back into the present.

And focus on all the things you have to be grateful* for.

Today I was listening back to one of my first calls with Elyse — an absolutely phenomenal client and friend — and I heard myself say:

“No one hires a life coach because they think everything in their life is absolutely perfect. But it is SO much easier, and more joyful, to start the journey of changing your life from a place of appreciation for everything that’s already going well.”

Yeah. Sometimes I’m wise.

And I think that wisdom matters even more when we’re surrounded by uncertainty (and aggressive uncertainty at that). Gratitude reminds us of what’s possible — and what’s worth fighting for.

If we’re living in Lord of the Rings, this week is the party in the Shire — where we get a clear view of the joy, abundance, and community our heroes are risking everything to protect.

Here’s how to integrate this week’s guidance:

Write a daily gratitude list - If it doesn’t make you want to throw up, try writing a gratitude list each day. Gratitude can be a loaded word, especially for women, so feel free to switch it up — use thankful, appreciate, or my personal favorite: “Yes, more of this please!”

Use a physical pen and paper (yes, really). Write down 8–10 things — big, small, or ridiculously silly — that genuinely make you feel good when you think about them.

Make a Gratitude Vision Board - This is what Elyse and I did on that call! It’s like a vision board, but instead of dreaming up the future, it celebrates moments you’ve already lived and loved.

Here’s how:

Set a 5-minute timer and scroll back through your camera roll — all the way to October of last year.

Pick one photo from each month that gives you that “Yes, more of this please!” feeling.

Put them into a collage, set them as your phone background, or print them out to hang up.

Give each photo a label — a word, a theme, a feeling — to remind you of what you love about your life, and what you want to call in more of.

Grateful Giving - A few years ago, I listened to Unleashing The Soul of Money by Lynne Twist, and one concept stuck with me:

When we are fully resourced — when we have everything we need — we are “grate-ful.” And from that fullness, we experience overflow — from which we can participate in “thanks-giving.”

Right now, so many nonprofits and organizations we rely on are losing funding. If that breaks your heart too, consider donating $5 a day this week to a cause that matters to you.

Giving from a place of gratitude is a powerful spiritual and practical act.

Thank you so much for reading and sharing this newsletter. I’m genuinely honored to be part of how you start your week.

I’d love to hear how this week’s message lands for you — just hit reply.

Love, Megan

I'm pulling back the curtain today. You may have wondered why I'm always so determined to put a picture of EXACTLY the card I drew in my Magic Mondays email! Or, well, maybe you haven't. There's a lot on everyone's minds right now. But there IS a very important reason why I never use a generic "3 of cups" picture when I'm actually pulling from my Illuminated Visions Deck, and why I wouldn't pull an AI image of "herbs" for the card I pulled yesterday. It's because: THE MEANINGS OF THE CARDS...

There are things all over your life and world that are already magical, but that you rarely notice, or just don't know how to tap into. That's the message of this week's card: The Herbs From Herbana Witch Oracle Deck by Alice Cuidi & Cecilia Lattari Herbs are mystical, magical plants that can be used to heal, soothe, and energize our bodies, if only we knew the mystical magical ways they work! Right? Think again. Most of the herbs that you'd find in a magic shop or for that matter on a...

I remember the first time we talked about your work life balance, and you were already doing so well. Not only were you crushing it at work, but you were also monetizing your hobbies, and volunteering, and taking classes. Of course you didn't have a work-life balance problem! But, also... You were eating your lunch in your car in a nearby parking lot, because even with your door closed colleagues would come in and interrupt you while you were on break. And you were holding your pee for way...
