πŸ§šβ€β™€οΈ Magical Mondays: Kick that Habit

I get cranky sometimes when the cards give me the same message over & over, so I drew a second card. Just to be difficult.

Hi! Welcome to Magical Mondays, where every week I draw a card for us to give some guidance and direction in a world that... well, you know. If you got this email forwarded, you can click the link below to subscribe so you don't miss out!

The first card I drew for this week was the Two of Cups, and I was like "wait, the balance of opposites again?" Because I feel like we've been working on this for a while, and you know what that means...

we haven't quite learned the lesson yet.

So, just to be difficult, I suppose, I drew a second card, because sometimes that will clarify things.

And the card I drew next was The Tower card.

The cards this week are fairly serious, and they tell us that, yes, we are working on balancing two disting, opposing wants & desires...

And also... something needs to be dropped off the tower.

And that something? It's a habit you're hiding under.

It's a habit that's helping you numb out or procrastinate or just cruise on autopilot and otherwise ignore what you actually want or need to be doing.

But here's the tricky thing: The habit is wearing a mask.

It's convinced you it's somehow helpful and necessary.

For me there are 2 things that immediately come to mind.

The message this week is:

You're not fully learning to balance these opposites because one of them has been replaced by this sneaky habit.

And I'm going to be super real today and tell you what I think it is.

The two oppsites we're talking about are Action and Rest.

And what's happening is you're not actually resting because when you sit down to rest it is Uncomfortable and so instead of resting you pick up your tiny handheld computer and... what?

Pick whatever your favorite dopamine vending-machine happens to be. Social media? Online shopping? Youtube videos?

For me, sometimes it's picking up an actual book, and even though that's "good for me" i'm still using it to keep from having to be still. Quiet.

Uncomfortable.

I'll be honest, I don't have the answers for this one as it's something I'm actively working on myself.

But here's what I think we should try:

(Psssst! If you want to share your ideas on this, or work through it a little more in-depth, I'd love for you to join in our Free Open Campfyre Call TOMORROW at 10:30am. Just reply to this email to RSVP and I'll send you the link!)

  1. Notice what you're doing with this habit and when. For me I've noticed I normally pick up my phone if I'm exhausted but am also telling myself I "need to be working" or have to finish some chores. The messaging that rest is something I can only let myself do after all other work is done is deeply ingrained in my body, and it appears even though I don't believe it anymore, I'm more comfortable sitting on my phone than letting myself take a nap.
  2. Try not to judge yourself for what you notice. Just let yourself notice when it tends to happen, and maybe wonder about why.
  3. Block off time for BOTH rest and work this week. And then, actually stick to it. (I know I said this two weeks ago but I didn't follow through on it and apparently you didn't either so here we are.)
  4. Start practicing a daily meditation, just to check in and notice how you feel. It can be as simple as 2 minutes of deep breathing, slowly counting to 10. Or, you can use your favorite meditation app instead.

I want to be FULLY HONEST right now- I'm in a great place right now. I've made more in 2025 in my business than I ever have before. I've got a beautiful house and a husband & kid I LOVE and I am so proud of the way we communicate together. And also? I didn't get here alone. I have, right now, 5 coaches. 1 mentor. and 4 different groups I'm a part of. Literally all I spend money on right now is coffee and personal growth. This is a HUGE reason I am consistently one of the happiest people I...

Hi love, I wanted to share a little about the Rules of Engagement we’ve created for the Campfyre Collective β€” not the rules themselves, but the heart behind them. I didn’t sit down and write a list of policies. We built these agreements together β€” through conversations, lived experience, and a shared desire to create a community where gifted, intuitive, β€œtoo much,” deeply perceptive women can finally exhale. These rules are about: β€’ Creating safety without smothering growth β€’ Being honest...

Listen, I LOVE Christmas. Full out, with all my little heart. It always feels like magic to me, pure and simple. But I know the holidays are not joyful for everyone, and if that's you, I need to introduce you to my friend and colleague, Felicia Dilbert. Felicia's book Beautiful Healing (vol. 1) emerged from her own personal journey, and I don't want to tell her story for her. But can I just say she's been through so much, and has made extraordinary meaning and beauty out of things that can be...
