Magical Mondays: Be generous with yourself first

It's another two-card day and this one is really spot on for the holidays!

Hi! Welcome to Magical Mondays, where every week I draw a card for us to give some guidance and direction in a world that... well, you know. If you got this email forwarded, you can click the link below to subscribe so you don't miss out!

They represent the duality of this time of year - the cycle of death and rebirth, The return of the light during the longest night of the year.

The Hermit & The King of Pentacles

The other big difference between these two cards is the call to retreat inwards and the shiny sparkly call to be in community celebration.

The Christmas/Yule season gets to be about both, but this week it's extra important that you find a balance that works for you.

This week the Hermit card asks you to spend time in quiet reflection and rest. You don't need to go out and be at every event, every party, or every family gathering. Use this quietest, darkest time of the year to truly rest and recuperate, and reflect on the year that has passed.

On the other hand, the King of Pentacles represents, if you will, the "Santa" of it all. The desire to show up in red, with sparkly lights, holly, and presents all around. You get to have that too! It's not about how many presents are in your sack, though - instead, the King of Pentacles is calling you to be generous and joyous in your presence.

The Hermit says stay home and rest, and King of Pentacles says when you DO show up, show up all the way, with joy and giving in your heart.

Here are some Do's and Don'ts for this week:

  • Do wear your most festive holiday outfit when you go out.
  • Don't go out every night.
  • Do spend extra time lounging around your house in pajamas.
  • Don't stress if your matching christmas jammies haven't arrived yet.
  • Do journal about the year we're finishing, and reflect on what you'd like to keep and what you'd like to leave behind in 2025.
  • Don't get a jumpstart on 2026 new years resolutions. The time to start is... later.

I'd love to hear how this guidance lands with you today, and how your energy levels are feeling as we end this year. I've loved doing Magical Mondays with you this year! If you've enjoyed it as much as I have, please forward this email to your favorite woo-woo friends so they can enjoy as well.

See you next week!
