Magic Mondays: Tend your garden

Stop expecting to see results right away. It's not realistic. You don't plant a garden and then immediately have tomatoes (unless your Kiela from The Spellshop, which I have finally started reading)

This week's guidance reminds us that a garden requires both tending and harvesting, and the new growth isn't all that matters.

Welcome to Magical Mondays, where every week I draw a card for us to give some guidance and translated it into practical steps you can take for your life, business, and personal growth.

Today's card is:

Nine of Pentacles

The guidance here is to remember to a)keep tending your garden, because it's not running on autopilot and to b)focus on gratitude and what you're harvesting this season, not just on the new things you want to plant next.

The garden metaphors continue this week, and rightly so because in the first few weeks of January we can get carried along with this energy of "new" and "next". Last week we connected with envisioning where we might end up as we work towards our new goals.

AND. Also....

We need to stay connected to the work that got us here.

Tending your garden might mean one of two things for you this week:

  1. Take care of your physical environment. Your "garden" if you will. Many cultures have a tradition of deep cleaning the house in January to prepare for the new energy of the Lunar New Year (coming next month), but at the very least you might need to go around and clean up after the hectic holiday season.
  2. Come back to your self-care practices. No judgement here - many of us fall out of our self care routines over the holidays, whether it's because you're traveling or your kids are off from school, or because you're just overwhelmed with things to do. Don't let your new and shiny new year's resolutions distract you from bringing back your journaling, meditation, or movement practices that you know help you feel better.

And then for the gratitude piece:

It's understandable to see the beautiful future you are working toward in your imagination, and then to look around at the life you're in right now and think "ugh, this is not what I want".

But the life you're in right now is the result of your intention-setting, growth, and harvesting from last year and you deserve to stop and celebrate it. Often.

So take time this week to connect with gratitude by making a daily gratitude list.

That's it for today!

Please share this email with your wierd and witchy friends, because, obviously, the more the merrier.

Let me know what from this email you're taking with you this week, or if you've got another idea to share!

Love & Light,

Megan
