It's not a work-life balance problem

I remember the first time we talked about your work life balance, and you were already doing so well. Not only were you crushing it at work, but you were also monetizing your hobbies, and volunteering, and taking classes. Of course you didn't have a work-life balance problem!

But, also...

You were eating your lunch in your car in a nearby parking lot, because even with your door closed colleagues would come in and interrupt you while you were on break.

And you were holding your pee for way too long because you didn't want to leave a client waiting while you ran to the bathroom.

And you were struggling to exercise in the way you wanted to because when you got home you were just tired.

And you were blaming yourself, and your chronic illness.

Girl...

OF COURSE you don't think you have a work-life balance problem because you are currently keeping like 8 balls in the air, when everyone else around is working on maybe 3 (and they keep dropping them all the time).

You are a success because you are keeping all 8 of your balls up AND picking up other peoples balls and juggling them too.

Is a good work-life balance defined as being able to keep everything up in the air?

Or is it being able to put things down sometimes.

With intention.

With discretion.

without panicking.

Honestly? Thank you.

You are why I realized I'm not a work-life balance coach.

I'm an anti-perfectionist coach.

You're not struggling with time management, or efficiency, or anything like that.

You are struggling with slowing down, resting, saying no, and taking things off your plate without feeling like a quitter.

And no one is going to give you a gold star for mastering those skills, because the patriarchy wants you TIRED and capitalism wants you PRODUCTIVE.

But me?

I just want you happy.

So come get your gold star.

I'm pulling back the curtain today. You may have wondered why I'm always so determined to put a picture of EXACTLY the card I drew in my Magic Mondays email! Or, well, maybe you haven't. There's a lot on everyone's minds right now. But there IS a very important reason why I never use a generic "3 of cups" picture when I'm actually pulling from my Illuminated Visions Deck, and why I wouldn't pull an AI image of "herbs" for the card I pulled yesterday. It's because: THE MEANINGS OF THE CARDS...

There are things all over your life and world that are already magical, but that you rarely notice, or just don't know how to tap into. That's the message of this week's card: The Herbs From Herbana Witch Oracle Deck by Alice Cuidi & Cecilia Lattari Herbs are mystical, magical plants that can be used to heal, soothe, and energize our bodies, if only we knew the mystical magical ways they work! Right? Think again. Most of the herbs that you'd find in a magic shop or for that matter on a...
